(I'm currently working my way through Maia Toll's "Wild Wisdom Companion".) After a jam-packed summer, my schedule for November and December is purposely light as I leave space for my own time of reflection during the coming winter months. However I am, as always, available to speak at events, talk to your writing group or organization, or simply give you a pep talk and walk with you through a creative hurdle. Less planning means more space for spontaneous connecting. ~ Joanne * * * * * * * * * * * * * EXQUISITE COLLABORATION POEM PROMPT The Exquisite Collaboration Project works like this: I provide a prompt and people from around the world respond. Their responses are then put together to form a collaborative ... poem. word collage. creative prose. we never know until it's finished.... which is then posted at: https://notesfromthefunnyfarm.wordpress.com/exquisite-collaboration-project-main/ This process is meant to remind us that if we all just contribute our part to a creative project, the end result will be something exquisitely beautiful - even if (especially if) it's nothing we would have thought to create on our own. The prompt for November/December 2022 has us reflecting on 2022 and can be found here. To contribute, just use the form to submit your line(s) and ta da! The poem is writing itself. Be sure to provide your email address so you can get the link to read the finished piece. * * * * * * * * * * * * * NORTHCENTRAL CHRISTIAN WRITERS' CONFERENCE Saturday, November 12, 2022 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM (EST) Watsontown Baptist Church 501 Main Street Watsontown, PA 17777 This day long "listen, lunch, and learn" offers sessions from Annette Whipple (Real-Life Research for Writers), Lisa Betz (Secret Tool for Building Believable Characters), and myself (I'll be leading a session on using "Yes And" to break through writers' block and recharge your creative spirit). "I could never...but I wish I could." These are just some of the stories we tell ourselves that create roadblocks along our creative (and life) path. But imagine the possibilities if you could tell yourself a different story! In this session, we'll use reflective writing prompts and fun exercises to silence the inner critic and turn those self-limiting statements upside down. Start 2023 on a fresh path towards creative possibility!
